What’s your background?

I grew up in North York, Toronto where I attended York University for my Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and Master’s in Biology degrees. Ever since I was young I was always curious, and oftentimes confused, about the natural world, which led me to learn and love science.

Why science?

Pursuing science is what led to humanity’s incredible advancement, leading to the countless of improvements and benefits we enjoy in our modern lives. I believe that helping everyone live a healthier and more fruitful life, in whichever small way possible, is one of the most worthy pursuits one can have.

Do you have any advice for someone interested in a career in research?

This can be said for any job really, but go into something you love and have a true passion for. Too often, people pick a job or a research project which they could care less about. Life is too short for this, and even if you have to grind, well at least make it fun in the process.

What do you like to do for leisure?

I love spending and enjoying time together with family and friends. I enjoy staying active by going to the gym and competing in sports leagues, but at the top of the list is playing basketball. Getting to spend time outdoors enjoying nature and travelling are also awesome activities.

Any song or book recommendations?

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien (the movies are a must watch too!)

If someone were to make a movie about your life, what would the title be?

The Amoeba Turned Scientist
