What’s your background?

I grew up in Toronto, where I also attended UofT, St. George Campus for Life Sciences. After my undergraduate studies, I completed an MSc in Molecular Medicine at Brunel University, UK.

Why science?

Science, and specifically biology, was the one subject in school that I did well in and also enjoyed. It was a very natural decision in my life to study and work in science.

Do you have any advice for someone interested in a career in research?

My advice for someone interested in a career in research, or any career for that matter, is to do what are passionate about. “Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.”

What do you like to do for leisure?

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking new dishes, and DIY projects.

Any song or book recommendations?

As a fiction lover, I would recommend A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and The Twentieth Wife by Indu Sundaresan.

If someone were to make a movie about your life, what would the title be?

Keeping Up with the Khans
