What’s your background?

I moved to Canada in elementary school and have grown up in the GTA ever since. I went to McMaster University for my undergraduate degree, in the Honours Biology & Pharmacology Co-op program.

Why science?

I am interested in discovering knowledge and using it to better the technology that is currently available. It is a field that complements engineering and advancing the development of AI to increase quality of life. There is no equation in science and the feeling of running a successful experiment equates to no other.

Do you have any advice for someone interested in a career in research?

It is amazing that so many people have dedicated their life to research and it is important to understand that research is not magical. It does not always work out the first time around, maybe not even the second or third. But perseverance and application of what is already known in the field is what will help you to be successful.

What do you like to do for leisure?

I love to go on walks around the neighbourhood to clear my head and appreciate what the city has to offer. I also enjoy tracking down and trying restaurants and stores featured on websites or on social media.

Any song or book recommendations?

I recently read The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides and enjoyed it!

If someone were to make a movie about your life, what would the title be?
